How does time go by so fast?

Hi to all that are still following the rather sporadic pursuits of Jehu. Merry Christmas & Happy New year!

So time has passed - Jehu is not without his excuses though, what with plenty of in-depth house re-construction for friends and the arrival of a little Jehu in October (aka Noah James Haygarth). . .

Jehus Garage projects have still been ticking away behind the scenes. During the back end of 2008 the Micra made a head start to her 2009 new years resolution and commenced a rather aggressive diet.

We do hope she sticks to this diet throughout the entire year as, without wanting to offend her, Jehu thinks she could do with losing at least a further 40 to 50 stone, in order to reach her target weight! We will be encouraging her in this quest as the year goes on, with both holesaws and grinders. Fun!

Boringly - she now sports a short shift gear lever, which apparently should fit a Nissan Pulsar or Skyline, but has been suitably adapted to fit her petite form (with a big drill)!

In addition, work has begun on the Near Side Front Corner, with the removal of the inner "eye socket" (or headlamp panel for the car geeks) ready for replacement, beyond which the new headlight can be fitted and she will be re dressed with a suitably coloured wing...

The next stage with this little project is to install the Roll Cage, and with a bit of hard work, lots of welding, and a following wind, we're confident we'll be getting a post up detailing that procedure before the end of Jan. Also watch this space for an update on the trials and travels of our faithful british friend the MGB ! !
